Suburban Access Outreach was founded in 2013 as Open Access. As of 7/1/25 we have re-named our organization to
SUBURBAN ACCESS OUTREACH.
Everything we do is FREE to the individuals and families we serve and we rely 100% on donations & grants to provide needed items. We are a program of Suburban Access which is a 501C3 nonprofit.
The mission of Suburban Access Outreach is to care for those who need basic items, educate, advocate, and provide a gateway to services that meet the needs of individuals in communities where access to vital services is limited.
We provide access to food, clothing, shoes, hygiene products and links to needed resources.

Every year, We provide complete Thanksgiving meals to 1000 families!
We know this does not solve the food inequities in our area, but we hope it shines a light on the problem of hunger and provides much-needed relief and joy during the holiday season. This couldn't happen without all the generous volunteers and donations!
Through our partnership with THE SARAH RYAN FOUNDATION, we are able to provide new shoes to individuals in need.
It happens too often... A family is referred to us, they come into shop and we have shoes for some of the family, but not all. We will now be able to provide new shoes to these families!
Another thank you to the Flossmoor Service League for providing a grant to purchase more shoes, socks and underwear.
We are so grateful to both organizations!
Open Access provides nutritious, nonperishable, easy-to-prepare food to children and their families. We ensure students have enough food on the weekends when they can't depend on school meals to avoid hunger.
Do a fundraiser and help us collect food or donate to help fund this need.

Imagine you cant afford to get a cake for a loved ones birthday?! This is a reality for some, so we are happy to provide this small but meaningful Party in a box!
Each box includes:
Cake Mix & Frosting - Birthday Card - Balloons & Banner - Candles - 1 can of Sprite...
Use the Sprite instead of eggs, oil and water! We tried it and it's delicious!
This is a fun and easy fundraiser or collection your group can do. Collect the items and then put together the party bags!!! We share with clients and other non-profits.
We are always in need of travel sized items. We will also take any larger sized items too! We share these items with other non-profits and the community including the homeless population. Please take a look at the list we created on Amazon. Thanks you!
